From Ninoy Aquino it is a short airport bus ride to the nearby local airport and a convenient 1-hour flight to the small airport at Caticlan. Caticlan is on Panay, a much larger island regarded by the islanders as the ‘mainland’. A motorized ‘trike’ will take you and your luggage to the Jetty Port less than five minutes away, where you take the ferry across to Boracay. This will cost you 125 PhP (including non-residents’ environmental fee and a Terminal fee). The small ‘bangka’ boats, which are constantly going to and from Boracay, takes about 20 minutes. The ferries operate between 5.00 in the morning and 9.00 in the evening. Porters will help to get luggage on and off the boat – at 20 PhP for each heavy item.
Whilst Caticlan is undoubtedly the most convenient airport for Boracay, some flights go to Kalibo from where you will have a 90 minute journey by air conditioned van (200 PhP) or Jeepney (85 PhP) to Caticlan’s port.
Once you arrive in Boracay you will need to take a trike to your accommodation at Pahuwayan Suites on Bulabog Beach (very close to ‘7 Stones’).
